As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines and datasets empowering data-driven decision-making that will promote innovation and growth across NORDEN.

On a more practical note, you will as a Data Engineer, access large and diverse datasets generating features and insights that will be of high value to stakeholders when making critical business and trading decisions. Your role will be crucial in transforming data into a competitive advantage.

You will use a modern tech stack, including Python, Prefect, and Azure cloud solutions while gaining a deep understanding of today's shipping market dynamics.

The tasks that await you
To be more specific you will together with the rest of the team, be responsible for tasks such as:

  • Building and maintaining data pipelines.  

  • Creating meaningful datasets through a combination of internal and external data. 

  • Generating decisive measures from datasets that will be used either directly in decision-making or as features for models.  

  • Working with non-technical stakeholders to derive and implement technical solutions to business challenges. 

  • Leading, organising and executing on data capture, validation, enrichment and support activities. 

  • Developing a systems-based approach to data engineering providing value within the larger organisation. 

Your competencies and core qualifications
We are looking for a colleague who is curious and wants to expand their knowledge in a global fast-paced trading environment. To thrive in this position, you should be able to tick off the following:

  • You hold a master's degree in business administration and information technology, mathematical modeling, statistics, computer science, software engineering, or similar areas.

  • You already hold programming skills – could be in Python and SQL.  

  • You have great English skills. 

  • You are eligible to work in Denmark.  

Further, you have to some extent participated in decision-making regarding technical solutions such as technology choice or overall structuring of data.
