How long have you been with NORDEN?

I joined NORDEN in 2017 as student assistant and became full-time employee in 2019

Fun fact about yourself?

I have played tennis for many years and just started playing padel tennis with some colleagues from NORDEN. I think it is a very fun game and much more straight forward than traditional tennis.

What is your background?

I grew up in a suburb of Copenhagen so have not moved far away from home by taking a job in Hellerup. I finished my masters in the beginning of 2019, so NORDEN is my first “real” job. While still at school, before I started as student assistant in NORDEN, I used to train kids in tennis and work as a teaching assistant at DTU.

What does your typical workday look like?

A good mix of coding, meetings and more project-oriented teamwork. With an education in the field of computer science, some tend to go “full-time coding”. I like that I am able to mix it up.

What is the best part of your job?

I like that shipping is a tangible business; you can actually see the ships moving, and data, as I work with, is relatable numbers. And then… I know it is a cliché, but I really like my colleagues. I think the tone is the perfect mix of serious and fun.

Why did you choose NORDEN?

I applied as student assistant because I wanted to try working in the industry and was recommended NORDEN by a fellow student. Afterwards, when I was offered a full-time position, I was not in doubt about taking it. Shipping is maybe known as an old, conservative business, but I really think that NORDEN highly appreciates “new” knowledge. I experienced that as a student assistant, and therefore, I definitely wanted to continue my journey with NORDEN. Even coming straight out of university, I get a lot of responsibility and trust in implementing more modern methods.
