The tasks that await you
As the Chartering Manager your main areas of work will be to:

  • Establish and maintain external as well as internal relationships. This could concern customers, brokers, owners, and internal stakeholders.

  • Closely collaborate with colleagues from Operations on ongoing voyages to proactively optimize results and ensure high-level service to clients.

  • Maximise earnings on own tonnage.

  • Create direct value by handling short-term contracts, tonnage, and cargoes.

  • Obtain, analyse, and share market view and information.

  • Develop strategic trades to enable growth globally.

  • Coordinate and position our fleet in close cooperation with the team.

As NORDEN operates at a global scale business travel to be expected.

Your competences and core qualifications
As a person, you are outgoing and take pride in building good relationships with relevant stakeholders - internal and external. You are committed and able to work on your own, while still prioritising the needs of the team. It is energising for you to coordinate and specialise your communication to ensure an optimised workflow.

Apart from this you have:

  • A minimum of 4 years relevant experience within dry cargo chartering, preferably within the panamax segment.

  • A proven history within the following areas:

  • Far east markets.

  • Trading and optimising earnings on tonnage and cargoes.

  • Key customer relationships.

  • Basic understanding of hedging and FFA.
